How does BreakSilence work?▾
You describe what happened and name the business. Our AI analyzes your complaint, identifies the right recipients (corporate compliance teams, regional managers, franchise contacts), drafts a professional formal letter, and dispatches it. You receive a tracking link so you can follow delivery.
Does BreakSilence actually get results?▾
Formal written complaints carry significantly more weight than online reviews because they create a paper trail addressed to named decision-makers. Many businesses have internal escalation policies triggered by formal complaints. BreakSilence puts your complaint directly in front of the people who can act on it.
What types of businesses can I complain about?▾
Any business operating in the United States: restaurants, hotels, retailers, airlines, banks, telecom providers, auto dealerships, healthcare providers, gyms, and more. If they have a corporate structure, we find the right contacts.
Who actually receives my complaint?▾
We route your complaint to the business's corporate compliance department, customer relations team, or regional management — whoever is best positioned to act. For physical mail, we send to the registered corporate headquarters.
Can I file a complaint anonymously?▾
Yes. Contact information is optional. If you choose not to provide an email address or mailing address, the complaint states that the sender has elected to remain anonymous. The business still receives the formal letter.
What is the difference between email and physical mail?▾
The Digital tier sends your complaint by email. The Physical tier sends a printed letter via USPS certified mail with tracking. Physical mail is harder to ignore, creates a verified paper trail, and is often required for formal legal or regulatory escalations.
How long does delivery take?▾
Email complaints are dispatched within minutes. USPS certified mail typically arrives within 5–7 business days. You can track delivery status in real time on your complaint's tracking page.
How much does it cost?▾
BreakSilence offers a free Spark tier for basic complaint drafting. The Digital tier (email dispatch) and Physical tier (USPS mail) are paid. Exact pricing is shown at checkout after your complaint is drafted.
Is my information safe?▾
Yes. Your complaint data is stored securely and never sold to third parties. Payment is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I use BreakSilence for complaints against government agencies?▾
Yes. We support complaints against local government offices, public utilities, and municipal services in addition to private businesses.
What happens after the complaint is sent?▾
You receive a tracking page showing delivery status. If you provided contact information, the business can reach you directly to resolve the issue. BreakSilence does not mediate disputes — we ensure your complaint reaches the right people.
